Semiwork Studios, the creators of REPO, have revealed their plans for the game’s initial update, featuring a "duck bucket" to prevent the notorious duck from attacking players. Dive into the details of upcoming features and see what the creator of Lethal Company thinks about REPO.
Details of REPO’s First Update
Duck Bucket to Neutralize the Threat

The debut update for REPO introduces a new map and a "duck bucket" designed to trap the troublesome duck. On March 15, Semiwork Studios shared a YouTube video outlining their vision for the game’s future.
REPO, a co-op horror game for up to six players, immerses teams in a terrifying world where they must carefully extract items. Players may encounter The Apex Predator, a deceptive yellow duck that transforms into a monstrous creature when disturbed, attacking for 10 seconds before reverting to its harmless form.
The upcoming "duck bucket" feature will allow players to capture the duck, preventing it from trailing them and reducing the risk of triggering its deadly transformation. The update will also include new facial expressions and various quality-of-life enhancements.
The Museum Map and Public Lobby Plans

Semiwork Studios announced a new map, "The Museum," designed to challenge players’ parkour abilities. Extraction points will now feature visible boundaries to clarify loot placement requirements.
The team is also exploring public lobbies, responding to player feedback. "Most players seem comfortable with matchmaking options for public or private lobbies, including a kick feature. While adding a kick button sounds simple, it requires complex server-side coding, which is new territory for us," the developers explained.
Implementing these changes will be challenging, so fans may need to wait longer for this feature to roll out.
Lethal Company Creator Weighs In on REPO
Since its February launch, REPO has drawn comparisons to the popular co-op horror game Lethal Company due to shared mechanics and themes. On March 15, Lethal Company’s creator, Zeekers, shared constructive feedback on Twitter (X), suggesting areas for improvement in REPO’s future updates.
Zeekers posted, "REPO is a blast. Initially, the slow movement and limited voice chat range threw me off, but coordinating with a team to maneuver a grand piano through a cramped mansion without damaging it—that’s a hilariously unique objective for a horror game." In the comments, he added, "I’ll share more thoughts on Patreon, but my top suggestions are: 1. Expand the voice chat range and reduce muffling. 2. Vast open levels don’t suit REPO’s design as well as the tight mansion layout, similar to Phasmophobia."

Responding to a comment about enemies approaching silently, Zeekers noted, "There needs to be an in-game way to learn about enemy behaviors, but I’m confident the developers are working on it."
R.E.P.O., a viral co-op horror game exclusive to PC, ranks as Steam’s second best-selling title behind Counter-Strike 2. According to SteamDB, it has hit a peak of 230,645 concurrent players, nearing Lethal Company’s record of 240,817. Stay informed with the latest R.E.P.O. updates by checking out our article below!
