The Battlefield 6 development team has clarified that AI combatants will only appear in the game's training mode. Here's everything revealed about this decision and other upcoming features.
Battlefield 6 AI Soldiers Restricted to Training Mode
Optional Removal Available for Breakthrough Mode
On August 7, 2025, Battlefield Comms (the official Battlefield Twitter/X account) confirmed AI soldiers would only populate "Training Grounds playlists during the Open Beta," addressing community concerns about potential gameplay impacts.
DICE explained they implemented AI bots primarily to maintain server population stability during testing phases.
The developers specified AI opponents would exclusively appear in Breakthrough Initiation playlists - specially designed sequences to prepare players for Breakthrough matches. These training playlists rotate different game modes for acclimatization.

As detailed on EA's official site: "Breakthrough divides maps into sequential sectors. Attackers push forward while defenders hold positions. Capturing sectors requires simultaneous control of all points." This mechanic makes AI integration logical for training scenarios.
While some players express concerns about AI diminishing competitive intensity (citing examples from PUBG and Call of Duty), Battlefield 6 offers a solution. Upon reaching Rank 15 and completing Training Grounds, players can access bot-free Breakthrough matches by selecting the mode from the 'Featured' playlist section.
Expanded Maps and Ongoing Improvements
Beyond AI discussions, player feedback from the August 9-10 beta highlighted concerns including excessively fast-paced matches and constrained map sizes.
Battlefield series Lead Producer David Sirland responded: "Game speed correlates directly with map scale. We intentionally selected compact maps to demonstrate high-intensity Battlefield action." He teased upcoming content, stating: "Larger maps absolutely exist - players will experience appropriately scaled gameplay soon."

Additional community-reported issues include cheating vulnerabilities, underwhelming physics implementations, clumsy vehicle handling, and weapon system limitations. With several months remaining until launch, players anticipate resolution of these concerns.
Battlefield 6 launches October 10, 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Stay updated on the latest developments through our coverage.
