Space Marine 2 Hotfix 10.1 Fixes Heroic Cadians, Trygon Prime

By MatthewMar 08,2026

Saber Interactive, the developer of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, has released a hotfix that implements several critical bug fixes and balance adjustments following the major 10.0 patch.

The update includes a buff for the popular new Power Axe, increases the Accolade rewards for daily Stratagems, and resolves a widely-reported bug that had captured the community's attention and even inspired a series of memes.

Here is the specific fix:

Fixed an issue where the Trygon Prime would leave the boss arena to attack Cadians in Stratagem mode.

Stratagem mode, a new PvE experience introduced in version 10.0, features daily and weekly rotating Battlefield Conditions that create unique operational challenges. These modifiers, designed to either aid or complicate your mission, include 'Cadia Stands,' which spawns Imperial Guard soldiers on certain levels.

Players have embraced the addition of Guardsmen in Stratagem mode. Their presence not only enhances the epic scale of the battles but also pays homage to the iconic Cadian Shock Troops, arguably the most recognizable human military force in the Warhammer 40,000 universe.

Cadia was the stage for one of the most pivotal events in Warhammer 40,000 lore, birthing the famous 'Cadia Stands' battle cry. The planet was destroyed when Abaddon the Despoiler crashed a Blackstone Fortress into it during his 13th Black Crusade. This cataclysmic event shattered the world and caused the Eye of Terror to expand into the Great Rift, effectively splitting the Imperium. The destruction of Cadia's ancient Necron pylons, which had previously contained the Eye of Terror, unleashed raw warp energy into realspace, dooming the planet and reshaping the galactic landscape. The narrative of Warhammer 40,000 has since revolved around the aftermath of this disaster.

Given this history, Warhammer 40,000 fans have a special appreciation for the tenacious Cadian soldier, especially when fighting alongside them as a Space Marine. Consequently, when the 10.0 patch introduced an amusing bug where a Cadian trooper could sometimes distract the monstrous Trygon Prime—one of the game's toughest Tyranid foes—to an obsessive degree, the Space Marine 2 community was thoroughly entertained.

Numerous clips showcased how Cadians could lead a Trygon Prime to its demise simply by drawing its aggro, sometimes even causing it to fall to its death, as seen in the example below. The spirit of Cadia endures!

Alas, this is no longer possible. From now on, Space Marines must confront the Trygon Prime directly, with the Cadians returning to their traditional supporting role.

"The sheer audacity of those guardsmen exerted a gravitational pull on that nasty worm," commented Reddit user Suter_Templar in response to the patch. "I love watching them take on incomprehensible monsters as if it were nothing. Honestly, they should be a permanent fixture in operations."

The full patch notes, as listed on publisher Focus Entertainment's website, are provided below.
