Indie game developer Sander Frenken has unveiled the alpha testing phase for his upcoming title, Battledom. This RTS-lite game serves as a spiritual successor to his 2020 hit, Herodom, and represents roughly two years of part-time development. Frenken describes Battledom as a closer realization of his original vision for Herodom.
Battledom introduces dynamic RTS combat mechanics. Players command units across the battlefield, targeting enemies and manually operating siege weapons. Strategic formations enhance gameplay, adding depth to the tactical experience.
Players build their armies using in-game currency, starting with basic, unequipped units. Customization is key; players equip units with weapons and armor, impacting stats like range, accuracy, defense, and attack power.
Resource management is central to Battledom. Players gather resources like wood, leather, and coal within their village to craft these upgrades at various crafting stations, such as the blacksmith or magician.
Frenken's previous success, Herodom, enjoys a 4.6 App Store rating. This tower defense game features over 55 collectible heroes, 150+ units and siege weapons, and historically-inspired battles. Progression unlocks cosmetic options like hairstyles and body types, alongside farm additions.
iOS users can participate in Battledom's alpha test via TestFlight. For updates and news, follow Sander Frenken on X (formerly Twitter) or Reddit. His other games are available on the App Store.
