As the Pokémon TCG community eagerly anticipates the release of Destined Rivals, the market continues to experience significant fluctuations. Fortunately, the preorders for Black Bolt and White Flare at the Pokémon Center managed to steer clear of bot-related chaos this time around.
This week's most notable price crash is the Greninja ex 214/167, which has plummeted nearly 50% since the start of the year. We're also witnessing substantial price reductions across cards from the Obsidian Flames and 151 expansions. Conversely, Dragonite V from Evolving Skies has seen its value nearly double, reflecting the card's enduring appeal and perhaps its undervalued status due to its captivating artwork.
Charizard V Alt Art continues to impress, showcasing a dynamic battle with Venusaur and steadily increasing in value. Meanwhile, Rayquaza VMAX Alt Art has skyrocketed, gaining an additional $100 in value since January. Let's delve into the week's most significant Pokémon TCG risers and fallers.
Pokémon Card Crashes

While Sword and Shield era cards are on the rise, Scarlet and Violet series cards are gradually returning to more realistic valuations.
Alakazam ex SIR from the 151 expansion is a stunning card, now 34% cheaper than at the beginning of March. It's an excellent opportunity to add Uri Geller's grandad to your collection this year.
Bulbasaur was my first starter in Pokémon Blue, so the Bulbasaur IR holds a special place in my heart. Its value has dropped a staggering 52% since mid-March, making it an irresistible addition to any collection.
In the Obsidian Flames set, Ninetales IR remains a standout card. With a 40% price drop since February, it's now available for a reasonable $18.17.

Despite any criticism of Obsidian Flames, the Charizard ex SIR's stained glass Tera form design is undeniably striking. While it hasn't dropped significantly since March, every dollar saved counts.
The most significant crash this month belongs to Greninja ex SIR, which was once poised to be the priciest Scarlet and Violet card. However, the arrival of Prismatic Evolutions has shifted the market dynamics. At $275, it remains a high-quality card, but it's a stark contrast to its $411.62 price tag at the end of February.
Pokémon Card Climbers

Turning to this week's climbers, Rayquaza VMAX Alt Art stands as one of the crown jewels of the Sword and Shield era. Already valued over $500, it's now at $649.99 and shows no signs of slowing down. It's a card that could reach $1,000 in a few years, making it a worthwhile investment if you can afford it.
The Charizard V Alt Art card captures a thrilling battle against Venusaur, earning it a $40 increase since January. Its dynamic angle sets it apart from the static images common in earlier Pokémon cards. With potential to surpass $200 by year's end, it's a must-have for collectors.
