Terminator 2D: Tariffs Even Threaten Skynet

By MaxDec 31,2025

Terminator 2D: No Fate — the new retro game that merges iconic moments from Terminator 2: Judgment Day with original storylines and branching conclusions — has experienced another delay, with its launch now scheduled for November 26, 2025.

It seems even Skynet isn't safe from international trade issues. Publisher Reef Entertainment announced the postponement in a short blog update, stating the shift from the original October 31 date was necessary due to "ongoing global trade and tariff adjustments that postponed the shipping of components for our Day One and Collector's Editions."

"In our commitment to a simultaneous launch for all versions, this revised date applies globally to both physical and digital releases," Reef noted. "We sincerely thank you for your continued patience and apologize for this additional wait. The development team is dedicated to ensuring the final product meets your expectations, and we are excited to finally share Terminator 2D: No Fate with everyone this November."

In Terminator 2D, players take on the roles of Sarah Connor and the T-800 in a mission to thwart Skynet's schemes before humanity's extinction. The game is slated for release on PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and previous-generation consoles. Its launch was first pushed from September 5 to the end of October before this latest delay.

As IGN reported in June, developers at Bitmap Bureau managed to locate and secure the likeness of the actor who portrayed the future war John Connor in the 1991 film, while also explaining the reasons behind Arnold Schwarzenegger's absence from the game.

(Terminator 2D: No Fate features gameplay where players command future war John Connor in battles against machines, expanding the film's brief opening sequence into a full-fledged segment of the video game.)
