Microsoft to Reveal New Halo Updates in October

By LeoNov 01,2025

What's coming next for Halo? Fans can expect exciting teasers this October during the Halo World Championship 2025.

In a recent blog post, Tahir "Tashi" Hasandjekic, Halo's Esports Lead, hinted that attendees of the October 24-26 event in Seattle might get early insights into Halo Studios' current projects.

Last year's championship marked a pivotal moment when developer 343 Industries rebranded as Halo Studios and confirmed it was working on multiple titles while transitioning from its Slipspace Engine to Unreal Engine for future Halo games.

These announcements were revealed in a seven-minute showcase before the championship finals, featuring Project Foundry - an Unreal Engine-based Halo prototype that signaled a new direction for Xbox's flagship franchise following Halo Infinite's 2021 release.

Tashi's blog post referenced last year's reveals while promising more updates this October: "Recent weeks have seen significant speculation about our upcoming projects. While we typically remain quiet, we want to encourage fans who are considering attending this year's event."

"Last year's 'A New Dawn' presentation covered our shift to Unreal Engine, Project Foundry's development, and our studio rebranding," Tashi continued. "That was just the start - we're excited to share more at this year's championship."

"While speculation is entertaining, those wanting official updates on Halo Studios' current work shouldn't miss this year's Halo World Championship. We'd love to see you in Seattle this October!"

Potential Announcements to Expect

What might Halo Studios reveal? While a full gameplay demo seems unlikely, we could see an enhanced Unreal Engine tech demo. Recent reports suggest Microsoft may be preparing a Halo: Combat Evolved remaster for 2026, potentially making its debut appearance at the event. This rumored remaster might also launch on PlayStation 5 alongside Xbox platforms.
