LEGO CEO Niels Christiansen has recently shared exciting news about the company’s future trajectory, emphasizing a significant expansion into the digital realm through the development of video games. This strategic move involves crafting titles both independently and in collaboration with other developers, aiming to enhance the LEGO experience across both digital and physical platforms.
“We are confident that, as long as we operate under the LEGO brand, we aim to create experiences for children of all ages across both digital and physical platforms. Developing games internally is something we are actively pursuing.” Niels Christiansen
This expansion into gaming does not mean LEGO will cease its collaborations with third-party developers. In fact, just last month, renowned journalist Jason Schreier disclosed that TT Games, celebrated for its LEGO-themed titles, is currently developing a new game, possibly connected to one of Warner Bros.’ popular franchises.

Currently, LEGO’s most prominent gaming endeavor is its partnership with Epic Games. The introduction of a LEGO-themed mode in Fortnite last year became an instant hit, underscoring the brand's appeal in the digital gaming world.
LEGO has also made a name for itself through the adventure game series developed by TT Games over the last two decades. While updates on new projects have been scarce, there are whispers of a new LEGO Harry Potter game in development, buoyed by the success of the commercially successful LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.
Further demonstrating LEGO’s adaptability in the gaming sector, the company teamed up with 2K Games to launch LEGO 2K Drive, a racing game released last year. This venture showcases LEGO's commitment to diversifying its gaming portfolio and delivering engaging experiences to its fans.
