This ghost-control mechanic is intricately linked to a karma system, which meticulously tracks the actions of characters and shapes their future lives, extending its influence even beyond death.

The karma system plays a pivotal role in determining a character's fate post-mortem. Depending on their deeds, characters might transition peacefully to the afterlife or be condemned to exist as a ghost, haunting the living. To achieve final rest and leave the mortal realm, these ghostly entities must accumulate the necessary karma points.
In the early access version of InZOI, players will encounter ghosts, but the ability to control them won't be available until a later update. Hyungjun "KJoon" Kim emphasized that InZOI primarily focuses on simulating real life, ensuring that paranormal elements are introduced sparingly. However, the developer has hinted at the possibility of integrating other mysterious phenomena into the game in the future, adding layers of intrigue and depth to the InZOI experience.
