For those not in the know, it may surprise you to learn that the Epic Games Store for mobile follows its PC equivalent's example with free games available to claim for a limited time. Even better, on mobile, it's not monthly but weekly, and you get two games instead of one!
In the last week of April, Epic is offering two fantastic releases completely free: Loop Hero and Chuchel. Regular readers of Pocket Gamer might recognize Loop Hero immediately, as it's one of our favorites. Jack gave it a glowing review, praising its engaging roguelike experience. If you play nothing else from this pair, make sure it's Loop Hero.
But what exactly is Chuchel? This surreal animated adventure follows the titular Chuchel in his quest to retrieve his stolen cherry. Along the way, he and his rival Kekel find themselves in all sorts of hilarious and weird situations that you'll either need to navigate your way out of or simply watch unfold.
Free-for-allChuchel might be a bit confusing at first, but it was still a fun experience for our App Army when they reviewed it upon release. Even if it's not your usual type of game, you can't argue with the price of free. Meanwhile, Loop Hero comes highly recommended for its mix of challenging gameplay and lush pixel visuals.
The Epic Games Store for mobile offers many of the same perks as its PC counterpart, including these free releases and access to popular games like Fortnite, which are otherwise unavailable on mobile.
