Monster Hunter Wilds (MH Wilds) has set a new record for Capcom, selling over 8 million units in just three days since its release. This achievement marks the fastest time any title in Capcom's history has reached such a milestone. According to SteamDB, MH Wilds has also seen significant success on Steam, with over 1.3 million concurrent players, despite receiving mixed reviews. Capcom credits this success to their extensive promotional efforts, including global video game event appearances and an open beta test that allowed players to experience the game firsthand.

Latest Update Addressed Game-Breaking Bug

In response to player feedback, Capcom has released a hot fix patch, Ver.1.000.04.00, on March 4, 2025, across all platforms. This update, announced by Monster Hunter's official support account, Monster Hunter Status, on Twitter (X), addresses several critical bugs that were hindering player progress. Key fixes include unlocking the "Grill a Meal" and "Ingredient Center" features, resolving issues with the Monster Field Guide, and fixing a game-breaking bug that blocked story progression in Chapter 5-2, "A World Turned Upside Down." Players are required to update the game to continue playing online.

However, not all issues have been resolved in this patch. Some bugs, such as network errors when firing an SOS flare after a quest begins and Palico’s blunt weapon attacks not inflicting stun and exhaust damages, remain unaddressed. These multiplayer-related issues are expected to be fixed in a future update.
