By JonathanMay 14,2025

Fans eager to dive into the opening episodes of Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld will need to jump into Fortnite to watch the series premiere before it hits Disney+. Today, Epic Games unveiled their plans to enhance their Star Wars content, announcing that the first two episodes of this eagerly awaited animated series will be exclusively available through Fortnite. This move aligns with their upcoming Galactic Battle season, designed to immerse players in a galaxy far, far away with Star Wars-themed experiences and rewards.

Starting at 10 a.m. ET on May 2, you can catch the kickoff of Tales of the Underworld featuring Asajj Ventress on the Star Wars Watch Party island—two days ahead of its Disney+ debut. Epic encourages fans to link their Epic Games and MyDisney accounts, offering a First Order Stormtrooper outfit as an incentive. While the full benefits of linking accounts remain a mystery, Epic hints at more exciting rewards to come.

“Disney and Epic are pioneering the future of social entertainment together, and this expansive Star Wars collaboration offers a glimpse into the type of interactive experiences we envision,” Epic Games President Adam Sussman stated. “We are reimagining what’s possible with immersive storytelling in Fortnite with one of the world’s most beloved franchises - stay tuned for a lot more to come.”

The opportunity to watch both episodes of Tales of the Underworld will be available until May 11, after which the Star Wars Watch Party island will go offline. Additionally, the island will feature a Battle Arena where players can engage in lightsaber combat against waves of enemies. Viewers who watch both episodes will unlock an exclusive Asajj Ventress loading screen.

Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld is a six-episode series, animated in the style of The Clone Wars, that follows the journeys of Asajj Ventress and Cad Bane. The official synopsis hints that Ventress will encounter a new chance at life and a new ally, while Bane will be forced to confront his past.

Disney's collaboration with Fortnite extends beyond the Galactic Battle season. In March 2024, the House of Mouse acquired a $1.5 billion stake in Epic, setting the stage for long-term partnerships. This investment will lead to further collaborations and the introduction of more Star Wars, Marvel, and Pixar outfits into the popular battle royale game. Notable additions in the upcoming season include Darth Jar Jar and Emperor Palpatine.

Since its launch in 2017, Fortnite has continued to dominate the space. Recent collaborations, such as the one with Sabrina Carpenter, have kept the game fresh and engaging, encouraging players to swap their pickaxes for dancing shoes.
