South Park fans will have to wait another week for a new episode, as reports confirm the show's current bi-weekly release pattern will continue throughout the season.
The current season airing on Comedy Central and Paramount+ has achieved record ratings and global recognition for its unfiltered portrayal of former President Donald Trump.
Production timelines have noticeably extended this season, with only three episodes released in the six weeks following Season 27's premiere. The fourth episode is now scheduled for September 3.
According to Deadline, South Park will maintain its two-week release schedule until the season concludes. With ten episodes planned, this extends the season to approximately 20 weeks, wrapping up around December 10.
The extended production cycle allows creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker more time to perfect each episode. As an anonymous production source explained: "Quality comes first, even if it delays airing or extends the season length."
This schedule benefits Paramount as well, keeping South Park in cultural conversations twice as long compared to weekly releases.
Season 27 debuted powerfully with an episode featuring extended Trump appearances - including some unexpected screen time. The White House responded critically, dismissing the show's relevance while defending the former president's accomplishments.
The season's second episode, "Got a Nut," introduced Vice President JD Vance and featured Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem in controversial scenarios. Episode three, "Sickofancy," saw Trump acquiring the genetically-modified talking towel Towelie through surreal plot developments.
With anticipation building, audiences must wait another week to discover what South Park's creative team has in store next.
