The current 61st season of Days of Our Lives has featured a reference to one of Nintendo's less popular series, surprising many viewers.
A recent episode of the long-running soap opera showed Salem University student Aaron flirting with classmate Arianna outside his dorm room. To find an excuse to invite her in, Aaron boldly suggests that Arianna might want to wait inside to "play Xenoblade on my Switch." I would have gone for Mario Kart World personally, but there we go.
To Aaron's surprise — and let's be honest, everyone watching at home — his offer is accepted by Arianna, who awkwardly laughs and steps inside, looking like she really had nothing else to do. Aaron, bless him, looks genuinely surprised that his suggestion worked — as he should.

The moment has since been turned into a clip and shared by Nintendeal on social media, where many Nintendo fans are excited that Xenoblade was acknowledged. (To those hoping for a new game announcement in last week's Nintendo Direct, I hope you're doing okay.)
Developed by Monolith Soft, the Xenoblade Chronicles series started back in 2010 on Wii, with several sequels and re-releases over the years. The most recent of these, a new version of the Wii U side-story Xenoblade Chronicles X, was released for Switch in March, at a time when most Nintendo fans were waiting for Switch 2.
"This show has 61 seasons and I've never seen any bit of it until Xenoblade was mentioned," wrote Zhenghua Yang, founder of To the Moon developer Serenity Forge, after watching the clip. "Top tier marketing."
"I know nothing about this show but Aaron is already my favorite character and there is no question about it," wrote another fan, AmiibroN.
