"We Are Muesli Launches New Mobile Narrative Game: In Their Shoes"

Indie studio We Are Muesli has exciting news for narrative game enthusiasts with the announcement of their latest project, In Their Shoes. Slated for release in 2026 on both mobile and PC platforms, this game has already garnered attention by earning a nomination for the prestigious independent and arthouse games awards, ‘A MAZE. 2025’ in Berlin.

In Their Shoes Is a Narrative Game that’s More About Listening

Set against the backdrop of contemporary Milan—a city brimming with contrasts—In Their Shoes invites players to delve into the lives of seven unique characters. Through 49 interactive short stories, termed "Moments," players gain intimate insights into the daily lives of these characters.

Each Moment in the game offers a unique experience, capturing the essence of the character's hesitations, routines, and spontaneous decisions. Some stories unfold slowly, allowing players to immerse themselves in the character's thoughts, while others demand quick reactions, reflecting the fast-paced nature of real life.

Unlike typical narrative games, In Their Shoes presents a narrative that's intentionally untidy. As players navigate through the fragmented stories, they uncover 26 hidden biographical details for each character, offering a true slice-of-life experience.

While the Play Store page is yet to be launched, eager fans can explore the game's Steam page. For a sneak peek, check out the announcement trailer below.
