Don't Nod, the French studio behind Life is Strange, has launched the initial chapter of their new narrative adventure. Players can currently experience "Tape 1," with "Tape 2" launching freely for all purchasers on April 15th.
Initially unveiled in 2023, the game centers on a close-knit group of friends shattered during the summer of 1995. Twenty-seven years later, the echoes of that summer resurface, unleashing unforeseen and terrifying repercussions.
Blending nostalgic charm with the suspense of psychological thrillers like It, Yellowjackets, and I Know What You Did Last Summer, the game is cleverly divided into two parts: "Bloom" and "Rage." As of February 18th, only "Bloom," the first half of this captivating mystery, is accessible.
"The Tape," encompassing the second half, will arrive on April 15th. Initially scheduled for March, the release was delayed to guarantee a higher level of polish.
The review embargo has been lifted, and OpenCritic shows an average score of 74/100, suggesting a promising start for this gripping narrative.
