LEGO Unveils Jango Fett's Starship and New Star Wars Sets Before May the Fourth

By AndrewMay 14,2025

LEGO has announced the launch of nine exciting new Star Wars sets, set to hit the shelves on May 1, 2025, in celebration of Star Wars Day. This annual event, known as May the 4th, is a significant occasion for LEGO, traditionally marked by the release of an Ultimate Collector Series Starship. In previous years, fans were treated to Luke's X-Wing Starfighter in 2023 and the TIE Interceptor in 2024. This year, LEGO is unveiling Jango Fett's Firespray Starship, famously known as Slave I among long-time Star Wars enthusiasts. The name change to Firespray Starship, implemented in 2021 at Disney's request, reflects a broader sensitivity to certain terminology within the brand.

The latest iteration of Jango Fett's starship is a significant upgrade from the last large-scale version released in 2019, which celebrated the 20th anniversary of the ship's appearance in "Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back" with 1007 pieces. The new set, featuring a whopping 2970 pieces, draws its design from "Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones." It stands at an impressive 7.5 inches high, stretches 17.5 inches long, and spans 15.5 inches wide, showcasing nearly three times the complexity and detail of its predecessor.
