Elden Ring Patch 1.01.1 Eases Solo Mode, Fixes Bugs

FromSoftware Unveils First Major Patch for Elden Ring Nightreign

FromSoftware has rolled out Elden Ring Nightreign's first post-launch update (version 1.01.1), introducing significant quality-of-life improvements for solo players.

The update, now available across all platforms including PC via Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox consoles, introduces an "Automatic Revival Upon Defeat" mechanic permitting one revival per night boss encounter in solo expeditions. Additionally, solo runs now yield more runes upon completion.

These changes address previous balance concerns highlighted in our Elden Ring Nightreign review: "While technically playable solo, Nightreign's single-player mode initially presented such extreme difficulty that adjustments seemed inevitable – especially noticeable for players accustomed to FromSoftware's signature challenge."

Key Balancing Improvements

The patch enhances reward systems by:

  • Increasing high-rarity Relic drops when reaching Expedition Day 3
  • Boosting odds of acquiring premium Relics from Scenic Flat stones

FromSoftware simultaneously addressed multiplayer connectivity issues that emerged shortly after launch. The studio acknowledged player feedback regarding missing co-op features like duo mode and voice chat functionality.

"Nightreign represents a purposeful departure from our recent titles," explained producer Yasuhiro Kitao regarding the game's successful launch (2 million units sold in 24 hours). "Like Demon's Souls and Sekiro before it, initial challenges give way to unique satisfactions once players acclimate to its distinctive systems."
