Pokémon GO's Max Out Season: Dynamax Pokémon Arrive!

Get ready for giant Pokémon! Pokémon GO has officially announced the arrival of Dynamax Pokémon as part of the upcoming Max Out season. This exciting addition brings new battles, events, and rewards.

The Max Out season runs from September 10th, 10:00 a.m. local time, to September 15th, 8:00 p.m. local time.

Dynamax Debut:

The season kicks off with 1-star Max Battles featuring Dynamax versions of Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Skwovet, and Wooloo. Catch these Dynamax Pokémon (and their evolutions!), with a chance to snag Shiny versions!

This event also includes special Field Research tasks and PokéStop Showcases with event-themed Pokémon for rewards.

A special Seasonal Special Research story will be available from September 3rd, 10:00 a.m. local time to December 3rd, 2024, at 9:59 a.m. local time. Complete Max Battle-focused tasks to earn Max Particles, a new avatar item, and more.

Max Particle Power-Up:

Stock up on Max Particles! A bundle containing 4,800 Max Particles will be available on the Pokémon GO web store for $7.99 starting September 8th, 6:00 p.m. PDT.

Future Features:

While unconfirmed by Niantic, rumors point towards the arrival of Power Spots next month. These locations will be central to Max Battles, Dynamax Pokémon encounters, and Max Particle collection.

Pokémon GO senior producer John Funtanilla hinted at the possibility of some Dynamax Pokémon also being able to Mega Evolve (as reported by Eurogamer). The addition of Gigantamax Pokémon remains unconfirmed, though it was teased at Pokémon Worlds. More details on Dynamax battles are promised soon.
