- Deadwood: Unmatched cards that don't form any phom.

- Stud: Undealt cards placed face-down at the table center.

- Mom: Finishing without any valid phom formations.

- Stealing the Pin: Claiming an opponent's discarded card during the final move.

- Sending Cards: Attaching unmatched cards to opponents' phoms in the last round to reduce point penalties.

- Compensation Rules: When subsequent players achieve Ù after pin stealing, compensatory point exchanges occur.

Gameplay Rules for Phom/Ta La

- Played among 2-4 participants, with 9 cards dealt to each player (10 cards for the dealer). Remaining cards form the Stud pile.

- Turns proceed counterclockwise, starting from the 10-card holder.

- Core Mechanics:

+ Players may claim discards to complete phoms or draw from the Stud pile.

+ Each turn concludes by discarding one card for the next player's consideration.

- Games end either by achieving Ù or after four rounds through lowest deadwood point calculation.

- Final Round Protocol: Players must reveal all phoms, send eligible cards to opponents' sets, then discard remaining cards for scoring.

+ Special cards: Ace=1, Jack=11, Queen=12, King=13. Numerals retain face value.

+ Tiebreaker: Earlier card revealer prevails.

Final Point Adjustments:

+ 1st place: +6 points

+ 2nd place: -1 point

+ 3rd place: -2 points

+ Last place: -3 points

+ Pin stealer: +4 points

+ Pin victim: -4 points

+ Ù achiever: +15 points (all opponents deduct 5 points)

+ Mom penalty: Winners gain 4 points from Mom player.
