Application Description

This is a versatile portable media player that also functions as a UPnP DLNA Digital Media Renderer (DMR). It offers robust support for a variety of subtitle formats, including SSA/ASS, SUP (Blu-ray), and VobSub (DVD) starting from version 5.1. Users can enjoy full control over SSA/ASS subtitles, with the ability to add or manage font files, adjust dimming to suit HDR and Dolby Vision (DV) playback, and resize the font for optimal viewing.

The player supports accessing files through the Storage Access Framework (SAF), giving users the flexibility to manage their media from various sources, including local storage, Samba/Windows sharing, and WebDAV clients. Subtitles can be embedded in MKV files or loaded externally, with options to use single files or packages in Zip/7Z/RAR formats during playback.

In addition to its subtitle capabilities, this media player is equipped to handle HDR and DV content, ensuring a high-quality viewing experience. It also features digital audio passthrough, MKV chapter navigation, frame-by-frame stepping, audio track selection with delay adjustments, and subtitle selection with time offset. Users can also view the frame rate and benefit from automatic refresh rate adjustments.

For enhanced viewing, the player supports Dolby Vision playback on devices like the NVIDIA Shield TV 2019, video rotation on demand, and full-screen zooming via pinch gestures.

Originally designed for playing segmented files in m3u8 (HLS media list) format, the player has evolved to support not just TS files but also mp4 and flv formats.

What's New in the Latest Version 4.3.1

Last updated on Feb 26, 2023

Please be noticed: This app must be running in the foreground before initiating DLNA projecting on certain Android systems.

This update addresses several issues, including fixes for subtitles auto-selection, the first chapter starting at 0:00, and adaptation to new systems. Users can now set a default language for subtitles in the selection box and pick subtitle files directly from the Storage Access Framework content page, which supports local storage, Samba/Windows sharing, and WebDAV clients. Efforts have also been made to resolve a DMR service crash bug, enhancing the overall reliability of the player.
