Xbox Developer Direct 2025: January 23rd Showcase Announced

Microsoft has unveiled the date for its next Xbox Developer Direct: January 23rd, 2025. This marks the third annual event, kicking off the 2025 Xbox game showcase season. The event, first launched in January 2023, continues its tradition of providing in-depth looks at upcoming Xbox titles.

The 2025 showcase is scheduled for January 23rd at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm GMT, airing on YouTube and Twitch. This announcement follows earlier rumors circulating around a January 9th reveal.

Confirmed Games:

Microsoft has confirmed three titles for the showcase:

  • Clair Obscur: Expedition 33: A turn-based RPG from Sandfall Interactive (France), targeting a 2025 release and confirmed for Xbox Game Pass on day one.
  • Doom: The Dark Ages: From id Software, initially announced in June 2024 and playable at QuakeCon 2024. Rumors suggest a mid-2025 launch.
  • South of Midnight: A stylish action-adventure game from Compulsion Games (Canada), originally announced in June 2023, with a release date yet to be confirmed.

Beyond the Confirmed Titles:

Previous Xbox Developer Directs have lasted over 40 minutes and featured multiple games. The 2024 event showcased titles like Avowed, Ara: History Untold, and Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2. Expect the 2025 event to follow suit, potentially including additional unannounced surprises.
