Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass January 2025 Wave 2: A Fresh Batch of Titles

Get ready for an exciting lineup of games joining the Xbox Game Pass in January 2025! Microsoft's recent announcement on Xbox Wire details Wave 2, a diverse collection of titles launching throughout the month, culminating in a sneak peek of upcoming day-one Game Pass releases at the Xbox Developer Direct on January 23rd. This includes highly anticipated titles like Doom: The Dark Ages, South of Midnight, and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, along with one more mystery game yet to be revealed.

The wave begins on January 21st with Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S), a day-one release for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers. This snowy sequel to Lonely Mountains: Downhill features up to eight-player cross-platform multiplayer, allowing for cooperative or competitive downhill races.

January 22nd brings a flurry of additions:

  • Flock (Console): A cooperative multiplayer game centered on collecting adorable flying creatures. Available on Game Pass Standard.
  • Gigantic: Rampage Edition (Cloud, Console, and PC): A definitive edition of the 5v5 MOBA hero shooter, offering a dynamic team-based experience. Available on Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard.
  • Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess (Console): A unique Japanese-inspired single-player action strategy game. Available on Game Pass Standard.
  • Magical Delicacy (Console): A new title joining the Game Pass Standard lineup.
  • Tchia (Xbox Series X|S): Another addition to Game Pass Standard.
  • The Case of the Golden Idol (Console): Also joining Game Pass Standard.
  • Starbound (Cloud and Console): Already available on PC Game Pass, Starbound expands to Game Pass Ultimate and Game Pass Standard.

The wave continues with day-one launches on January 28th:

  • Eternal Strands (Cloud, Console, and PC): A fantasy action-adventure game from Yellow Brick Games, featuring a blend of magic and combat. Available on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.

Rounding out the month:

Finally, kicking off February, Far Cry New Dawn (Cloud, Console, and PC) joins Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard on February 4th.

Departures:

Remember, as new games arrive, some titles will be leaving Game Pass on January 31st, 2025. These include Anuchard, Broforce Forever, Darkest Dungeon, Death’s Door, Maquette, and Serious Sam: Siberian Mayhem.
