The Last Knight is a captivating side quest that enriches the Rinascita region of Wuthering Waves. While it doesn't match the grandeur of the main quest line or larger exploration quests, it offers a refreshing look into life beyond Ragunna City and comes with rewarding benefits.
Compared to more complex quests like Where Wind Returns To Celestial Realms in WuWa, The Last Knight is relatively straightforward and less time-consuming. Here's a comprehensive walkthrough to help you navigate this engaging side quest.
Starting The Last Knight Quest
To begin The Last Knight, you must first complete Chapter 2, including the quest "What Yesterday Wept, Today Doth Sing." We highly recommend finishing the main storyline before delving into Rinascita, as many side quests are unlocked after Chapter 2 Act 3.
Once you've completed the main questline, make your way to Egla Town in Whisperwind Haven. Look for Cosimo, who should be standing in front of the first house along the main road exiting the town. He will be marked by a blue quest marker on your map.
The Night Reveries
The Night Reveries celebrate a legendary knight who defeated a giant in Whisperwind Haven. As part of this quest, you'll participate in the performance by confronting the Mad Knight and other challenges.
The Mad Knight only appears at night, so advance the time to between 18:00 and 06:00 the next day. Head to the central pool in town to engage the Mad Knight. This enemy isn't particularly formidable; use your strongest attacks to defeat it efficiently.
The Last Knight: Mimic Chests
After defeating the Mad Knight, proceed to the tallest tower in town and follow the quest marker to find Carlow. You'll find him unconscious next to a large, purple flower. Interact with the flower to be transported to a new instance where you must identify the mimic among several chests.
The first three supply chests are genuine. In the subsequent set, only one chest is real; the others are mimics. The correct chest to open is the second one in the middle-left position. Opening it will reward you with Astrites and other valuable items, but be prepared to fend off the mimics that attack afterward.
The Knight's Trail and The Strange Scent
Once you've dealt with the purple flower's effects, you'll need to visit the second and third locations supposedly visited by the legendary Mad Knight. This segment involves following quest markers and engaging with NPCs.
After speaking with Mr. Millkeeper, Abby will mention a strange scent. Follow the quest marker uphill to encounter a unique Chop Chop with invulnerable Leftless and Rightless. For this battle, equip a Questless Knight Echo in your main Echo slot to parry the Chop Chop's attacks and stun it instantly.
After defeating the Chop Chop, Mr. Millkeeper reveals that the legendary knight was a myth; it was he and other Windmill Keepers who protected the town under the guise of knights. This revelation causes Carlow to flee in disbelief.
Find Carlow
Return to Egla Town during the day and locate Carlow in one of the town's plazas. You'll find him facing ridicule from two knights. Instead of backing down, Carlow vows to protect and challenges one of the men to a duel, shedding his romanticized view of the Mad Knight and embracing the true essence of being a protector.
The quest concludes with Carlow's duel request, wrapping up The Last Knight. You'll be rewarded with Union XP, Astrites, and other resources, completing this quest as part of the Tales of the Isles event.
