Witcher 4 Creators Support Blood of Dawnwalker Authors, No Competition with Rebel Wolves

Gamers have taken notice of The Blood of Dawnwalker, sparking discussions and drawing comparisons to The Witcher 4. This excitement stems from the fact that The Blood of Dawnwalker was crafted by former CD Projekt Red (CDPR) staff members, which is evident in the similarities in ambiance and style between the two games.

Following the release of the first trailer for The Blood of Dawnwalker, fans have been buzzing about which game might outshine the other. However, both the developers and their former colleagues at CDPR believe that such comparisons are unnecessary and even counterproductive. An X user expressed this sentiment, saying:

“Dawnwalker looks amazing, just like The Witcher 4. Both works can coexist harmoniously. One game doesn't mean the other is dead. It's not a competition. Let's show respect.”

Patrick K. Mills, who contributed to the missions in The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077, added his voice to the discussion. He stressed the absence of rivalry between the teams:

“Anyone who tries to compare these games is doing the devil's work. The teams have a long history together; we hang out, play games together, and our group chats are filled with praise for each team. There's nothing but love here. The culture war will remain a culture war, but these games share a common origin and common values.”

Philippe Weber, the narrative director for The Witcher 4, also chimed in, noting the visual similarities in the trailers for both games. He shared a light-hearted anecdote:

“Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz and I were joking today about how the eyes in the dark in our two trailers were used as references to the TV series Midnight Mass to sell the idea early on. Many of the creators of the two games are friends, and we love seeing our friends succeed!”

Rebel Wolves, the studio behind The Blood of Dawnwalker, has set an ambitious goal: to create a new series of games that can stand toe-to-toe with well-established franchises. Based on the first trailer, it seems that The Blood of Dawnwalker has the potential to be just as impressive as CDPR's acclaimed titles.
