Hot on the heels of Dynasty Warriors: Origins, Koei Tecmo has released another thrilling addition to the musou genre with Warriors: Abyss. This new roguelite game brings together iconic characters from the Warriors series for an exciting adventure that launched today.
Showcased during the recent PlayStation State of Play, Warriors: Abyss allows players to form a squad and battle through hordes of enemies. With its isometric camera angle, the game echoes the style of Diablo and the Greek mythology-inspired roguelite, Hades. Players will navigate through the depths of "hell," facing off against demonic foes along the way.
Today's gameplay footage featured well-known characters like Zhou Yu, Nobunaga Oda, and Sunshang Xiang, showcasing the diversity of the Warriors roster. According to the PlayStation Blog, players can recruit and add characters to their team over time, utilizing up to seven active heroes in combat. At launch, a pool of 100 warriors will be available for players to choose from.
Koei Tecmo has plans to expand the character roster post-launch, beginning with additions from the Jin kingdom in Dynasty Warriors. The developer hinted at further waves of characters, suggesting that even figures from outside the Warriors series might join the fray in the future.
Warriors: Abyss is now available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. It will also be coming to Nintendo Switch on February 13, 2025. Fans looking to snag the in-game Dynasty Warriors Costume Set should make their purchase before March 14, 2025.
