Version 5.4 Update Leaks: Genshin Impact Anticipates Banner Reruns

Genshin Impact Leak Suggests Wriothesley Rerun in Version 5.4

A recent leak hints at a potential rerun for the Cryo Catalyst character, Wriothesley, in Genshin Impact Version 5.4. This would mark his return to the Event Banners after a year-long absence since his debut in Version 4.1. The current banner system struggles to accommodate the game's ever-growing roster of over 90 playable characters, leading to extended wait times for character reruns.

The game's attempt to address this issue, the Chronicled Banner, is viewed by many players as a temporary solution rather than a long-term fix. This is evidenced by Shenhe's extended wait time before her rerun in Version 5.3. Until the implementation of Triple Banners, longer wait times between character reruns are likely to persist.

Wriothesley, a popular Cryo hypercarry, has been unavailable since November 8, 2023. The leak, originating from Flying Flame, suggests his return in Version 5.4. While Flying Flame's track record isn't perfect, the recent Spiral Abyss buff that benefits Wriothesley's playstyle lends some credence to the rumor.

Version 5.4 is also anticipated to introduce Mizuki, potentially Inazuma's first Standard Banner character. If both Mizuki and Wriothesley are featured, the remaining Event Banner slot(s) might feature either Furina or Venti, as they are the only Archons yet to receive sequential reruns. The launch of Version 5.4 is projected for February 12, 2025. Players should, however, approach this information with caution, given the inherent uncertainty surrounding leaks.
