Unlocking Every Weapon in Dynasty Warriors: Origins
Unlike previous Dynasty Warriors titles where players controlled numerous characters, each with unique weapons, Dynasty Warriors: Origins features a single protagonist who unlocks a diverse arsenal. This guide details how to acquire each weapon.
Weapon Acquisition in Dynasty Warriors: Origins
Previous games linked weapons to specific characters and their unique movesets. Dynasty Warriors: Origins streamlines this by allowing weapon switching at will.
Starting with a sword, additional weapons are earned by defeating specific enemy officers throughout the game's missions. Ideally, all nine main weapons can be obtained by the end of Chapter 3, though the exact order may vary. For optimal weapon acquisition timing, follow this guide:
- Sword: Starting weapon.
- Spear: Earned after completing the Battle of Guangyang in Chapter 1 (requires purchase for story progression).
- Gauntlets: Defeat Zhou Cang during the Battle of Guangzong in Chapter 1.
- Wheels: Defeat Zhang Ju during the Suppression of You Province in Chapter 2.
- Podao: Defeat any officer wielding this weapon during the Subjugation of the White Wave Bandits in Chapter 2.
- Staff: Defeat an officer within a hidden treasure chamber accessed via a secret passage during the Assassination of Dong Zhuo in Chapter 2.
- Twin Pike: Defeat Zhang Liao during the Battle of Hulao Gate in Chapter 2.
- Lance: Defeat an officer carrying this weapon on the opposing side during the Battle of Xu Province (faction choice affects which officer to defeat).
- Crescent Blade: Unlocked in Chapter 3 after aligning with a specific faction (the exact mission varies based on player choices).
A final, powerful weapon—the halberd—awaits after completing the main campaign. Defeating Lu Bu at the Battle of Hulao Gate unlocks this coveted weapon.
Dynasty Warriors: Origins is available on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
