We're back with another update on Ubisoft. While upper management navigates ongoing challenges, there's some positive news: a long-standing compatibility issue has been resolved.
Ubisoft has finally addressed the incompatibility between several Assassin's Creed titles and the Windows 11 24H2 update. This update, released in Fall 2024, caused games like Assassin's Creed Origins and Assassin's Creed Valhalla, among others, to malfunction. The solution arrived via newly released patches, announced on the Steam pages for Origins and Valhalla.
Player response to the patches has been overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing relief and gratitude. This is a welcome change, as the problem stemmed from Windows, not Ubisoft's game development. However, it's worth noting that overall Steam reviews for both games remain "Mixed."
There's also cautious optimism regarding Assassin's Creed Shadows. Recently delayed until March 20th to allow for further quality improvements, its launch is considered crucial for Ubisoft's future.
