During today’s Summer Game Fest, a brand new trailer gave us our first chance to hear acclaimed voice actor Troy Baker in his newest role: a crime-solving mouse, the star of MOUSE: P.I. For Hire.
In MOUSE, Baker plays private eye Jack Pepper—a war hero turned detective, and yes, a mouse. The story kicks off when a classic femme fatale arrives at his door with a case. But his investigation widens as he uncovers murder, corruption, and more across the city of Mouseburg.
MOUSE is a visually arresting 3D first-person shooter with a classic cartoon aesthetic, reminiscent of the retro artistry seen in Cuphead. Inspired by 1930s noir cinema, the game nails the look and feel.
Baker is celebrated for his roles in many major titles, including Joel in The Last of Us, Indiana Jones in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Booker DeWitt in BioShock Infinite, Sam Drake in Uncharted 4, and Higgs Monaghan in Death Stranding and its upcoming sequel, Death Stranding 2.
MOUSE: P.I. For Hire is slated to launch this year on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, and PC, developed by Fumi Games.
