"Top Jedi Survivors of Order 66 Ranked"

This month celebrates the 20th anniversary of the release of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, the final installment of the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy. The film hit theaters on May 19, 2005, and was the last Star Wars movie overseen by George Lucas before he sold Lucasfilm to Disney in 2012.

Going into Revenge of the Sith, fans anticipated the pivotal moment where Anakin Skywalker would succumb to the Dark Side and transform into Darth Vader. However, the fate of the other Jedi remained a significant mystery. The film introduced Order 66, a sinister directive by Palpatine that turned the Clone Troopers against the Jedi they had fought alongside during the Clone Wars, leading to the execution of nearly all Jedi. With thousands of Jedi in service, it was plausible that some would escape Palpatine's grasp, beyond just those known to survive into the Original Trilogy.

Since then, numerous Order 66 survivors have been introduced in various canon Star Wars narratives. Here, we rank the top 10 who have left a significant mark on the Star Wars universe. These survivors range from those who lived only briefly after the order was issued to those who endured much longer, with some fates still shrouded in mystery. Each of these Jedi managed to continue their fight even after Palpatine declared, "Execute Order 66."

To qualify for this list, characters must have been part of the Jedi Order before Order 66, regardless of their rank—whether Padawan, Jedi Knight, Jedi Master, or Jedi Initiate. This excludes non-Jedi Force users like Maul or Palpatine himself, as well as untrained Force-sensitive individuals like Jod Na Nawood, who never officially joined the Jedi Order or visited the Jedi Temple.

There was some debate about including Asajj Ventress, who was trained by Jedi Master Ky Narec for over 20 years on Rattatak. Despite Narec declaring her his Padawan, Ventress never visited Coruscant or met with the Jedi Council before his death. Her subsequent alignment with the Dark Side under Dooku's tutelage complicates her Jedi status, making her an honorable mention.
