Farewell, SwitchArcade Readers! This is the final regular SwitchArcade Round-Up from me. After several years, circumstances necessitate a change of course. But let's go out with a bang!
Reviews & Mini-Views
Fitness Boxing feat. HATSUNE MIKU ($49.99)
Following the Fitness Boxing series' success (including the surprisingly good Fitness Boxing Fist of the North Star), Imagineer's collaboration with Hatsune Miku feels like a natural progression. This Joy-Con-only title blends boxing and rhythm game mechanics for daily workouts, mini-games, and more. A dedicated Miku mode adds extra appeal. The game includes difficulty options, free training, warm-ups, progress tracking, and unlockable cosmetics. While the music is excellent, the main instructor's voice is a bit jarring and could be improved. Overall, it's a solid fitness game, best used as a supplement to other routines rather than a standalone solution. -Mikhail Madnani
SwitchArcade Score: 4/5
Magical Delicacy ($24.99)
Magical Delicacy cleverly combines Metroidvania exploration with cooking and crafting. As witch Flora, you cook and craft for various characters. The exploration is well-executed, though some backtracking can be frustrating. Inventory management and UI could be improved. The game boasts beautiful pixel art, charming music, and customizable UI settings. While enjoyable, some quality-of-life improvements would elevate it further. The Switch version runs well, with minor frame pacing issues. Handheld mode is ideal. -Mikhail Madnani
SwitchArcade Score: 4/5
Aero The Acro-Bat 2 ($5.99)
A surprisingly polished sequel to the original Aero The Acro-Bat. This release surpasses expectations with an improved presentation, including box and manual scans, achievements, a sprite sheet gallery, a jukebox, and cheats. It features the Super NES version (US and Japanese releases). The omission of the Genesis/Mega Drive version is a minor drawback. A solid platformer, recommended for fans of the series and 16-bit platforming in general.
SwitchArcade Score: 3.5/5
Metro Quester | Osaka ($19.99)
More of an expansion than a sequel to Metro Quester, this prequel takes players to Osaka. It introduces a new dungeon, character types, weapons, skills, and enemies. The core turn-based combat and top-down exploration remain, demanding careful planning and strategic play. A rewarding experience for fans of the original, and a great entry point for newcomers.
SwitchArcade Score: 4/5
