Capcom Pro Tour is taking a breather, as the final 48 competitors for Capcom Cup 11 have been determined. Instead of focusing on the world's best players, let's examine their character choices.
Following the conclusion of the World Warrior circuit, EventHubs compiled statistics on the most popular Street Fighter 6 characters at the highest competitive level. This data provides a reliable snapshot of the game's balance. Remarkably, all 24 characters saw representation, although amongst nearly two hundred players (from eight finalists across 24 regions), only one chose Ryu. Even Terry Bogard, the newest addition to the roster, was selected by just two players.
Currently dominating the professional scene are Cammy, Ken, and M. Bison, each favored by 17 players. A significant gap follows, with the next tier comprising Akuma (12 players), Ed and Luke (both 11), and JP and Chun-Li (both with 10 players). Amongst the less frequently chosen characters, Zangief, Guile, and Juri stand out, each selected as a main by seven players.
Capcom Cup 11 will be held this March in Tokyo, with a million-dollar prize awaiting the champion.
