Stellar Blade is set to receive a full sequel, as confirmed by developer Shift Up. The PlayStation-published action game, which launched in April 2024, received positive feedback for blending gameplay elements reminiscent of NieR: Automata and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.
Shift Up, a Korean company, announced the sequel in a chart outlining their future projects, which was part of their latest financial results released today. According to a presentation slide, the Stellar Blade sequel is slated for release before 2027, alongside other upcoming titles from the studio.
Prior to the sequel's launch, Stellar Blade is expected to undergo a "platform expansion," likely referring to its upcoming PC version, scheduled for release on June 11, 2025. During this period, Shift Up will also launch Project Witches, a new multiplatform action RPG that remains largely under wraps.

Earlier this week, Shift Up mentioned they were addressing a PC region lock issue with Sony, which had previously blocked the game's store page on Steam in over 100 countries.
In IGN's review of Stellar Blade, the game was praised for its action elements but critiqued for its narrative and character development. The review highlighted the game's "Sekiro-inspired combat system" and the variety of challenging enemies, as well as the rewarding exploration aspects, despite some shortcomings in its RPG elements and sidequests.
