Triangle Strategy Returns to Nintendo Switch eShop

Good news for RPG fans! Triangle Strategy, the acclaimed tactical RPG from Square Enix, is back on the Nintendo Switch eShop after a short absence. The game's temporary delisting, lasting several days, has ended, allowing players to once again purchase and download the title.

This popular Square Enix game, praised for its revival of classic tactical RPG mechanics, draws comparisons to franchises like Fire Emblem. Its strategic gameplay focuses on unit positioning and maximizing damage.

The reason for the delisting remains unconfirmed. However, speculation points to Square Enix's recent acquisition of the publishing rights from Nintendo. This isn't the first time a Square Enix title has been temporarily removed; Octopath Traveler experienced a similar, albeit longer, absence last year. Triangle Strategy's swift return, after only four days, contrasts with Octopath Traveler's several-week hiatus.

This event underscores the strong relationship between Square Enix and Nintendo. This partnership is evident in past releases, including the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series (initially a Switch exclusive) and the Nintendo Switch exclusive release of Dragon Quest 11 Definitive Edition. Square Enix's history of console exclusives stretches back to the original Final Fantasy on the NES, demonstrating a long-standing commitment to Nintendo platforms, even as their releases expand to other consoles. The upcoming Final Fantasy VII Rebirth remains a PlayStation 5 exclusive for now.

The return of Triangle Strategy is welcome news for Switch owners eager to experience this critically acclaimed title.
