New Need For Speed won't come out in the nearest future

EA's EVP Vince Zampella provided an update on the future of the Need for Speed franchise. With NFS Unbound released over two years ago and no subsequent announcements, Zampella clarified the current focus is on the next Battlefield title.

Criterion Games, the studio behind Need for Speed, is heavily invested in the development of the new Battlefield game. This project, involving four studios, prioritizes incorporating player feedback to avoid repeating the issues encountered with Battlefield 2042. This player-centric approach extends to future Need for Speed content as well.

Zampella implied that Need for Speed's return is contingent upon the launch and post-release support of the new Battlefield game. This delay might be beneficial, allowing time to address past fan disappointment with recent NFS entries and potentially fostering renewed interest in the franchise.

In short, expect no immediate news regarding the next Need for Speed game.
