Space Marine 2 Public Test Server Live, Patch 7.0 Brings Massive Updates

By CamilaApr 26,2025

The first public test server (PTS) for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is now live, offering fans an early glimpse into the highly anticipated Update 7.0 and its accompanying patch notes. Focus Entertainment and Saber Interactive have shared that the preliminary patch notes for the PTS version include most features of the 7.0 update, though they caution that the final version may differ due to ongoing bug fixes.

PC players participating in the PTS have a lot to explore with Update 7.0. A new PvE mission titled "Exfiltration" has been added, along with a new secondary weapon, the Inferno Pistol, available for the Vanguard, Sniper, and Heavy classes. The update also introduces prestige ranks for PvE and private PvP lobbies, enhancing the endgame and competitive play experiences.

Customization options have been expanded with the introduction of new colors such as Volupus Pink and Thousand Sons Blue, along with Bulwark cloth and hands recoloring. PvP rewards have seen a significant increase, now offering 50% more customization rewards. Additionally, the PTS introduces exclusive skins: the Imperial Fists Champion for the Tactical class and the Space Wolves Champion for the Vanguard class.

Significant balance changes are also part of Update 7.0, with an extended weapon arsenal in PvE, allowing all classes to enjoy a broader range of weapon choices. Notably, the Assault class can now wield the Power Sword without needing mods. Players should review the detailed patch notes to understand the full scope of weapon adjustments.

A crucial gameplay improvement comes in the form of a teleportation feature for the Inferno Operation. If a player reaches the assembly area in the final stage, other players will be teleported there after a short delay, preventing griefing and ensuring smooth mission progression.

Last month, the developers teased the upcoming Horde mode and addressed concerns about the game's live service model, particularly regarding community events and the fear of missing out (FOMO). Earlier this year, Saber Interactive outlined future content plans to address player frustrations over a lack of updates.
