Sonic Blitz stands out distinctly. Unlike previous entries such as Sonic Rumble, a Fall Guys-style battle royale, this game represents a major shift for the Sonic brand. It's a deck-building card battler where players collect cards featuring their favorite Sonic characters.
Despite its card-based mechanics, the game is anything but slow. Matches are designed to last just three minutes, with dynamic rule changes throughout. It’s easy to pick up quickly, yet offers lasting entertainment for you and your friends.
The inspiration behind Sonic Blitz is clear. The collectible cards showcase detailed 3D models that aim for an authentic feel, reminiscent of Pokémon TCG Pocket. Meanwhile, the fast-paced three-minute match format has gained popularity on mobile, especially through titles like Marvel Snap.
Sonic Blitz also introduces a unique Dash attack mechanic, which triggers custom animations for each card. No global release has been announced yet, but a successful run in the Philippines could pave the way for a wider launch soon.
