Hollow Knight: Silksong has been eagerly awaited by gamers worldwide, and the wait might soon be over. The game will feature a playable version at Australia's National Museum of Screen Culture (ACMI) as part of their Game Worlds exhibition. This version promises to be a significant evolution from the E3 2019 demo, which was more of a "proof of concept."

The Game Worlds exhibition at ACMI is set to run from September 18, 2025, to February 8, 2026. Alongside Silksong, the exhibit will showcase other iconic titles like World of Warcraft and The Sims, featuring custom builds, original design materials, concept art, and iconic objects.

In an interview with IGN, ACMI co-curators Bethan Johnson and Jini Maxwell expressed their excitement about including Silksong in the exhibit. They stated, "Since Hollow Knight: Silksong's initial announcement in 2019, it has been one of the most anticipated indie games on the planet – and we are thrilled to celebrate the design of this South Australian-made game as a centrepiece of Game Worlds in September."

Since its announcement in 2019, details about Silksong have been scarce, leaving fans hungry for any updates. The Game Worlds exhibit at ACMI aims to quench this thirst by providing a deeper look into the game.

The co-curators elaborated on what visitors can expect, saying, "From the hundreds of sprites that animate Hornet’s different movements and attacks, to the logic behind the game’s most challenging boss fights – and of course, having the game playable in-gallery – our Silksong displays delve deeply into the details of the game's artistic direction and design."

While the Australian event hints at a possible launch window for Silksong, no official release date has been confirmed. The game briefly appeared during the Switch 2 Direct, confirming a 2025 release window. With the exhibit running until 2026, fans are hopeful that Silksong might launch as early as September 2025, within the exhibit's timeframe.

Hollow Knight: Silksong is slated for release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. Stay tuned for the latest updates on this eagerly awaited title by checking out our article below!
