SEGA Stars Join Sonic Rumble for Epic Crossover Debut!

Sonic Rumble is gearing up for its global launch on May 8th, but it's already making waves with its exciting crossover event, dubbed Crossover Event #0: SEGA Stars. This event kicked off and will run until May 7th, just before the worldwide release, offering fans a taste of what's to come.

Currently in soft launch, Sonic Rumble is playable in over 40 countries. It first rolled out during Pre-Launch 1 in Summer 2024, targeting regions like the Philippines, Scandinavian countries, and Colombia. The second pre-launch phase extended to Canada, Turkey, Malaysia, South Africa, and other regions, allowing more players to get a sneak peek at the game.

What's in Store?

If you're lucky enough to be in one of the soft-launch regions, you can jump into the Sonic Rumble SEGA Stars crossover. A highlight of the event is the return of the Altered Beast crew, with the iconic Werewolf transformation available for free. Nostalgic fans can also grab the Werebear and Weredragon transformations, though with different payment options: Weredragon is exclusive to the Premium Pass, while Werebear can be purchased with regular rings.

The event also brings a touch of Fantasy Zone to Sonic Rumble, with Opa-Opa and Upa-Upa joining the fray. Opa-Opa is part of the Premium Pass, while Upa-Upa can be obtained through fragments bought with standard rings, each costing 700.

Additionally, AiAi and MeeMee from Super Monkey Ball have made their way into the crossover. If you're keen on adding AiAi to your roster, be prepared to spend 729 Red Star Rings. To see what the crossover is all about, check out the event video below.

During matches, you can collect SEGA logos to earn extra goodies. While it might seem odd to have an event before the global release, SEGA has reassured fans that most of these pre-release rewards will be available again post-launch.
