The critically acclaimed TV adaptation of *The Last of Us* has already secured a third season even before the second season has begun. But the burning question remains: will there be a Season 4? Showrunner Craig Mazin has made it clear that a fourth season is likely necessary to fully tell the story derived from the two Naughty Dog video games.
In a recent interview with Collider, Mazin explained that attempting to wrap up the entire narrative in Season 3 would stretch the season out indefinitely. He acknowledged that Season 3 might be longer than Season 2, but emphasized that "there’s no way to complete this narrative in a third season." Mazin expressed hope that the series would continue to earn its audience, paving the way for a return to conclude the saga in a fourth season. He stated, "Hopefully, we’ll earn our keep enough to come back and finish it in a fourth. That’s the most likely outcome."
