A schizophrenic fan found inspiration in Arkham Knight getting one of the legendary Kevin Conroy's latest videos in return

In 2020, a fan of Batman: Arkham Knight who was battling schizophrenia reached out to Kevin Conroy, the iconic voice of Batman, through the Cameo service. Expecting a standard 30-second message, the fan was instead gifted with over six minutes of heartfelt encouragement from Conroy. Moved by the fan's personal story, Conroy went beyond a formal response, creating a video that became a lifeline for the fan during some of his darkest moments.

The fan's journey began after being deeply affected by the ending of Batman: Arkham Knight, where Batman confronts his fears, paranoia, and hallucinations. This resonated profoundly with the fan, mirroring his own struggles with schizophrenia. In gratitude, he shared his story with Conroy, explaining how the Dark Knight's resilience inspired him to keep fighting his illness.

What the fan received was far more than he anticipated. Instead of a brief message, Conroy delivered a lengthy, supportive video that the fan described as a lifesaver:

"This video has saved me from suicide countless times. Hearing Batman say he believed in me was incredibly powerful... But as time went on, it became just as important that it was Kevin himself who believed in me."

Initially, the fan had no intention of sharing the video publicly. However, upon learning that Conroy had a brother who also suffered from schizophrenia, he decided to post it on Reddit, hoping it might help others facing similar challenges.

"If someone in his family asks me to delete this video, I will of course do so. But it has inspired me in my toughest moments, and maybe it will inspire someone else. Hang in there. Because Batman believes in you."

Tragically, Kevin Conroy passed away on November 10, 2022, at the age of 66. Yet, his legacy and the impact of his words continue to resonate with millions worldwide.
