Rockstar, the renowned developers behind the GTA series, have finally released an Anniversary Edition update for Bully on mobile platforms, marking the first update in six years. This update is exclusive to mobile and does not include console or PC versions.
Rockstar Hasn’t Forgotten about Bullworth Academy!
Bully: Anniversary Edition now boasts new language support and focuses on enhancing stability and fixing bugs. Notably, Rockstar has temporarily disabled Friends Challenges as part of this update.
For Android users with compatible devices, the update introduces Screen Space Ambient Occlusion (SSAO), enhancing visual quality. Additionally, the app icon has been updated, and haptic feedback has been added to both iOS and Android platforms.
Several mission-specific issues have been resolved, such as the locker-picking problem in ‘That Bitch’ and progression issues in ‘Weed Killer’ when breaking the window prematurely. The notorious issue with police cars falling through the floor in ‘The Rumble’ has also been fixed. Furthermore, the update addresses gameplay anomalies where enemies failed to engage Jimmy, ensuring more balanced combat. It also tackles crashes that occurred when starting a new game or loading a save from the pause menu.
What Do Players Have to Say about Bully: Anniversary Edition?
The Bully fanbase has long awaited news on a sequel, Bully 2, which was reportedly in development during the 2010s but was shelved in favor of Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA Online. With GTA 6 on the horizon, the prospects of Bully 2 seem slim, especially as many original developers have moved on from Rockstar. While the new update isn't a remaster or sequel, it's a welcome enhancement for mobile players.
For those unfamiliar with Bully, it's Rockstar's unique take on a schoolyard sandbox game where you control Jimmy Hopkins, a 15-year-old navigating the challenges of Bullworth Academy. The game is infused with Rockstar's signature humor and offers an open-world experience filled with mischief.
You can download Bully: Anniversary Edition from the Google Play Store for €7.99, which also supports full gamepad functionality.
