Known for their work on the Expendables and Has Fallen series, as well as previous Rambo films in 2008 and 2019, Millennium Media is set to introduce this new chapter during the Cannes Film Festival, where film projects seeking funding and distribution partners are showcased to potential investors.
Set against the backdrop of the Vietnam War, "John Rambo" will serve as a prequel to the iconic 1982 film "First Blood." While plot details are scarce, we know this film will delve into Rambo's earlier days. As of now, casting has not been finalized, and although Sylvester Stallone, the original Rambo, is aware of the project, he is not currently involved.
The screenplay for "John Rambo" comes from the talented duo Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani, known for their work on "The Mauritanian" and "Black Adam." Filming is slated to begin in Thailand in October, promising to bring the intensity and action that fans expect from a Rambo movie.
