While a day-one release of all these games is highly optimistic, even a partial inclusion would make for a stellar launch. Here's our hopeful (and somewhat speculative) Switch 2 launch lineup:

Mario Kart 9

A decade since Mario Kart 8's Wii U release, and its continued success on the Switch, strongly suggests a sequel is highly probable. While officially unannounced, rumors of a "new twist" in development are encouraging. A launch-day release would be a powerful statement, solidifying Mario Kart's status as a system-selling franchise.

A New 3D Super Mario Adventure

The Switch's relative lack of 3D Mario titles beyond Super Mario Odyssey (2017) and Super Mario 3D World (re-release) points towards a highly anticipated new entry. A launch-day release alongside Mario Kart 9 would be a monumental showcase of Nintendo's flagship franchise.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond

After years of anticipation and a developer change, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is finally nearing release. Its smooth gameplay reveal trailer hinted at next-gen capabilities, making a Switch 2 launch highly plausible.

Enhanced Versions of Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom

Backward compatibility is expected, but enhanced versions leveraging the Switch 2's power (e.g., 4K resolution, improved frame rates) for these critically acclaimed titles would be a welcome addition.

Ring Fit Adventure 2

Nintendo often includes unconventional titles at launch. A sequel to the surprisingly successful Ring Fit Adventure would be a fitting example, showcasing the Switch 2's motion control capabilities.

Resident Evil 4 Remake

While the original Switch lacked the power for this graphically demanding title, the Switch 2 could easily handle it, making for a compelling launch title.

Doom: The Dark Ages

Given the success of previous Doom titles on Switch and Microsoft's cross-platform strategy, a Switch 2 release of Doom: The Dark Ages is not entirely improbable.

The Haunted Chocolatier

Following the immense success of Stardew Valley, ConcernedApe's The Haunted Chocolatier is a strong contender. While a launch-day release might be ambitious, a launch-year window is certainly possible.

Earthblade

As a successor to the acclaimed Celeste, Earthblade from Extremely OK Games could also find its way onto the Switch 2's launch lineup, given its anticipated 2025 release window.
