Pokemon GO's Fashion Week: Taken Over event introduces a highly anticipated feature: the ability to use remote raid passes in Shadow Raids. This limited-time opportunity, running from January 15th, 12:00 a.m. to January 19th, 8:00 p.m. local time, allows trainers to participate in one-star, three-star, and five-star Shadow Raids remotely or in person.
This event presents a unique chance to catch Pokémon with enhanced Individual Values (IVs) from Shadow Raids. The convenience extends to the Shadow Ho-Oh Raid Day on January 19th (2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time), offering increased shiny Shadow Ho-Oh encounter rates and the chance to teach it Sacred Fire. Furthermore, players can utilize Charged TMs to remove the Frustration move from Shadow Pokémon.
While this functionality is event-exclusive, its introduction fulfills a significant player request since Shadow Raids debuted in 2023. The temporary nature of remote raid pass usage in Shadow Raids leaves the future uncertain, though many players hope this becomes a permanent feature, addressing past criticism regarding the in-person requirements of challenging raids.
