The Pokemon Company Issues Statement on Pokemon TCG Prismatic Evolutions Shortage

The Pokémon Company addresses widespread shortages of its highly anticipated Prismatic Evolutions trading card game expansion. Acknowledging the difficulties fans have faced securing products, the company confirms that reprints are currently in production and will soon be distributed to licensed retailers. This statement marks the first official recognition of the supply issues.

Originally unveiled in November 2024 with pre-orders opening shortly after, Prismatic Evolutions was slated for a January 17th, 2025 global release. However, significant shortages quickly emerged worldwide. In response to considerable fan outcry on social media, The Pokémon Company issued a statement addressing the high demand and assuring fans that they are working diligently to increase production and distribution. While the statement avoids directly mentioning scalpers as a contributing factor, it acknowledges the inconvenience caused by the limited availability.

Replenishment on the Way

The Pokémon Company assures fans that reprints are actively being produced and will reach distributors as quickly as possible, though a specific release date for these reprints remains unannounced.

Future Releases Still Planned

Beyond the reprints, additional Prismatic Evolutions products are planned for release in the coming months, as initially announced. These include:

  • A Mini Tin and Surprise Box (February 7th, 2025)
  • A Booster Bundle (March 7th, 2025)
  • An Accessory Pouch Special Collection (April 25th, 2025)
  • A Super-Premium Collection (May 16th, 2025)
  • A Premium Figure Collection (September 26th, 2025)

Players can also obtain Prismatic Evolutions cards in the Pokémon TCG Live mobile game starting January 16th, 2025, via the Battle Pass. The Pokémon Company expresses gratitude for fans’ patience and reiterates its commitment to resolving the supply issues.
