April Fools may be the time for jokes, but fortunately for fans of Pokémon TCG Pocket, today's news is not at the expense of anyone. That's because new premium pass rewards are being made available, alongside a whopping 1000 Trade Tokens for all players, and by all accounts, it's not a joke!
The trade tokens reward isn't exactly surprising, as trading was a hotly-anticipated feature among players, yet it also proved to be an extremely frustrating implementation for many. While we await changes to the trading mechanics that are set to arrive this autumn, at least this gives fans a bit of a safety net.
As for the premium pass rewards, this is where the real fun begins. There's a new Shiny Charizard-themed playmat, coin, backdrop, and other cosmetics. Meanwhile, fans of Sprigatito can grab a new themed card in premium missions that feature the catlike Pokémon jauntily making his way across a series of rooftops.

The continual attempt to do damage control on the trading feature probably hasn't done much to negate the fact that we'll be waiting a while for changes. While Pokémon TCG Pocket has proven to be a decent adaptation of the original card game, it's also shown the limitations of translating a physical TCG to mobile.
At the same time, the continual addition of more premium pass rewards and other content helps to smooth out the issue for many players. Hopefully, while we wait for trading fixes, we can look forward to even more new additions like these.
