Pokémon Go Launches Wayfarer Challenge in Chile and India

Niantic has exciting news for Pokémon Go trainers in Chile and India with the launch of the Wayfarer Challenge, offering a unique opportunity to shape their local gaming environment while earning exclusive rewards. From March 7th to 9th in Chile and March 10th to 12th in India, participants can review and approve Wayspot nominations on the Niantic Wayfarer platform, potentially transforming real-world locations like landmarks, sculptures, and street art into new PokéStops and Gyms.

Engaging in this event not only enhances your local Pokémon Go experience but also contributes to community milestones. If the community manages to resolve 5,000 nominations, all participants will be rewarded with 20 Ultra Balls, a Star Piece, an Incense, and a Poffin. Should the community surpass 10,000 approvals, the rewards escalate to 25 Ultra Balls, two Star Pieces, two Incense, two Poffins, and a Lucky Egg.

To participate, you must be at least level 37 in Pokémon Go and have a Niantic Wayfarer account. New users will need to complete the Wayfarer Orientation before they can start reviewing nominations. Additionally, you must have recently played in Chile or India or set your Wayfarer Hometown or Bonus Location to one of these countries. To qualify for the rewards, you'll need to review at least 50 nominations, and at least one milestone must be achieved.

Simultaneously, a PokéStop Challenge event will run from March 9th to 12th, exclusive to Chile and India. During this event, you'll earn 3x XP for visiting new PokéStops for the first time, 3x Stardust from opening Gifts, and there will be increased Kecleon spawns. Event Field Research will feature encounters with Eevee, while Timed Research offers opportunities to catch other Pokémon.
