Pokémon Go Announces 2025 Worlds Events

• The Pokémon Go World Championships kick off from August 15-17, 2025
• Look for Pikachu sporting a stylish varsity jacket in-game
• Go Battle League receives special updates with themed content

Pokémon Go is celebrating the 2025 Pokémon World Championships in Anaheim, California (August 15-17) with exciting in-game events. While elite trainers compete for the championship title, players worldwide can join the festivities - including a free commemorative 2025 Worlds Tee (White) giveaway during the opening day livestream.

The event introduces a special Pikachu wearing a varsity jacket, appearing in raids, research tasks, and wild encounters with a chance to find its Shiny variant. Alongside this special Pikachu, raid bosses will include Lapras, Honedge, Dusclops, and Diggersby. Note that both Lapras and Pikachu will have boosted Shiny encounter rates during this period.

A $5 Timed Research ticket offers encounters with Lickitung, Sableye, Guzzlord, plus 25,000 Stardust and a Premium Battle Pass. Exclusive move upgrades include Rage Fist for Primeape/Annihilape and Megahorn for Clodsire. Event-exclusive stickers and avatar items will be available through various in-game sources.

From August 11-17, Go Battle League transforms with new visuals and soundtrack. During Go Battle Weekend (August 15-17), players can: complete 100 daily battles, earn 4x Stardust per win, and unlock battle-themed avatar items through free Timed Research. GBL encounters will also display expanded stat distributions.

For competitive trainers, the Pokémon Go Web Store offers special bundles like the Ultra Ticket Box (with bonus Premium Battle Pass) and TM Elite Master Box (containing Elite and regular TMs). Don't forget to redeem these Pokémon Go promo codes for free items!
